Cell Phone Directory – Should We Have A Cell Phone Directory Or Should We Not?

There are a lot of people who have cell phones these days. It is becoming uncommon to not have one. Everywhere you look you will see someone talking on a cell phone. So should we have a cell phone directory to help us find the cell phone numbers that we need to find?

This is a debatable question that strikes a lot of controversy. There are a couple of different reasons why people think we should have a cell phone directory and why we should not. So what are these reasons?

Here are some reasons why people believe their should be an official cell phone directory available.

One: It will become harder and harder to keep track of cell phone numbers because of the rising number of people who are getting and using cell phones. Adults and kids everywhere use cell phones.
Two: With more and more people using their cell phones for their primary phone number (home phone) it is becoming more important than ever to have a way to find the cell phone numbers. You never know when you will have to get a hold of someone in case of emergency or some other reason.
Three: With all of the people who have cell phones, there are a lot of them that have their phone number changed and it is becoming very hard to keep track of all of the cell phone number changes.

Here are some reasons why people think we should not have a cell phone directory:

One: There are many people who don’t want their cell phone numbers to be made public. They want their privacy. This is understandable but it can make it very hard to find a cell phone number when you need it.
Two: There are many people who don’t want telemarketers getting a hold of their cell phone numbers because everyone knows how annoying that can be. By not having a cell phone directory they don’t have to worry about this happening.
Three: Then there is the fear that their other personal information will be made public and not just their cell phone. This is a big reason why some people don’t want to have a cell phone directory made available.

For the reasons listed above some people are in favor of a cell phone direcotry, while others are not. If you don’t want your number to be in a directory then you can always pay to have your phone number unlisted. We have a telephone directory for landline phones, why not one for cell phones too?

Eventually, there will have to come a time when an official government cell phone directory is made available. Untill then, you will have to use service like the ones found here.
